Team Trip to Fuerteventura

“Life is about the people you meet and the things you create with them”

Back in February I was lucky enough to fly out to the beautiful Island of Fuerteventura to meet up with some of the Protest Team. The purpose of our trip was to get to know each other, surf together and shoot some fun videos and images for Protest’s 2016 Spring/Summer Range.

We stayed at the Oasis Papagayo Sports Complex in Corralejo, situated right down the road from the Protest Surf Center. From the moment I arrived I felt the overwhelming friendliness of everyone and as an immediate “team bonding” session, we headed straight to waves to surf.

Every day after that began with an adventure. In the mornings we would all meet and enjoy a healthy breakfast together and then head out with Saffie and his Team from Protest Surf Center to find the best waves Fuerteventura has to offer. Driving over the familiar dusty roads we would find a good break and set up our camp for the day.

Taking a boat to Lobos was also on the agenda and the waves certainly didn’t disappoint.

At the end of the week Protest had arranged for an all girls Surf Clinic where we would get to meet some of the local surfers on the Island. It was amazing to meet such dedicated girls who were actually brilliant surfers. The language barrier didn’t matter as there were plenty of smiles and high fives throughout the day.

…and of course met some lovely doggies along the way ;)
