Protest Women - 24/7 Is Not Enough

Protest women

I am so happy that I will be riding for Protest for another year!  Signing with Protest was one of the most exciting moments in my life and as a non competitive “free surfer”, I feel extremely honoured to represent them as a Team Rider. This Season Protest are heading a new campaign to try and get so many more of us active and doing what YOU love!

The philosophy “24/7 is not enough” is there to remind people to make time to get out there and see the world, to do the things they love, share good times with friends & family and  enjoy those epic moments.  For me some of best adventures have been with my family.  There’s a saying that goes “the family that plays together stays together” and this is so true.  Having visited Fuerteventura recently it was great to be able to share some special surfing time with my dad and sister.

Sometimes amazing memories can be made by simple things and the day we took a boat to the island of Los Lobos will be an experience I won’t forget.  The boat took us  a short way from Corralejo Harbour and anchored up just behind the surf break at Lobos.  This is a pure “adrenalin rush wave” (if you can catch it) and I was so hyped to try and ride it!!!  Once the boat hand anchored, Dad and I jumped off the side with our boards and took the long paddle across to where the wave was breaking.

Waiting with anticipation we were catching waves that were taking us the length of the shoreline – it was unlike anywhere I’d ever surfed before.  Big up to my Dad though, at 51 years old he was catching as many rides as he could on his longboard, making the most of his experience!

We could have literally stayed the whole day we were having so much fun ………  and so this is what its all about……… don’t let anything get in your way or hold you back, just go out there and enjoy what you love, make plans, try something new, and soon you’ll realise too that 24 Seven is NEVER enough!!!!
